We get asked a lot about words. Despite the lack of English degrees that circulate around the IMExpert offices, words are our currency. Words our clients rank for. The words with the most search. The words that get clicks. The words that persuade you to pick up the phone and buy. The average person uses anywhere from 5,000 to 50,000 words and on average around 20,000, so imagine how many words we come across everyday for our customers!
According to the Global Language Monitor (GLM), there are 1,019,729 words in the English language. The millionth new word was – drumroll please – “Web 2.0” – Entering the 1,400-year-old English lexicon on June 10, 2009 at 10:22 am. Web 2.0 is something very close to our hearts. We don’t start the day without some Web 2.0, goes right alongside our morning eggs and orange juice.
If you don’t know what Web 2.0 is, don’t worry, you’re not alone. Web 2.0 describes websites that emphasise user-generated content, usability, and interoperability. The term was popularized by a conference in late 2004, but coined in 1999. Web 2.0 describes social media sites and when it comes to Social Media and SEO services, we ensure that your Web 2.0 is up and running, linked, working and interlinked with other Web 2.0 assets and your site.
To use a favourite analogy of ours, if your website is a star in the universe, the more planets you have around you, the brighter you’ll shine.
This is the foundation of an IMExpert SEO campaign. Without this initial set up (and we rarely come across a case of this action having been taken correctly) the job of getting your site to rank is made that much harder.
